Find Balance in an Unbalanced World Today ~ The Oola Way

Who’s excited to learn more about Oola for Women and find balance in their lives?!? ??? Pinch me because I think I’m dreaming!? Three weeks ago I opened an email that opened my eyes to the power of the Laws of Attraction. I knew little about “Oola” other than the fact that some of my essential oils (EOs) friends are into it and that Young Living has named some of their EOs with Oola titles. Despite my limited knowledge, I had been wanting to find out how to get me some of whatever “Oola” was, and I was contemplating how to bring it into my life!

How powerful is our inner voice?!

Then I received an email asking me if I’d like to be considered for an ARC (Advance Read Copy) of the latest book on the subject of Oola! “I’d love that!” I shouted in my head! Out of 500 bloggers who were considered in the days that followed, I was selected to receive an ARC of Oola for Women: Find Balance in an Unbalanced World!!

So, a couple of weeks ago the publisher mailed the ARC to me before the authors even got a copy!! When it arrived I was holding one of 50 copies in circulation while other readers could only pre-order a copy. I was SO thrilled!!

Why am I telling you all of this? It is a lead-in to how this book was about to influence my thinking for the best. “The OolaGuys'” mission is to “change the world with a word” and that they are.

In a second blog post I will tell you about the changes I am implementing in my own OolaLife in an effort to inspire, however, here I will give you my review of this transformative non-fiction book.

Oola for Women ~ Find Balance

Brief Summary

Oola for Women is aimed at helping women find their life purpose by learning to balance seven key areas of their lives. I really loved this book because it was very well-written, had strong letters from 42 inspiring women living the OolaLife and was incredibly inclusive with tactical approaches, reminders, tools and worksheets. The only downside for me was that I was too antsy the whole way through to wait and get to action! (:

Oo´ • la \ n. adj. \ 1 a : derived from the expression oo la la! b : a state of awesomeness: a life that is balanced and growing in the key areas of health, finances, career, relationships and well-being d : a destination (i.e., getting to Oola) 2 a : describing actions, insights and goals that lead to a balanced life (ex. That’s so Oola.) 3 a : the ultimate plan for achieving balance in an unbalanced world.

The Good

  1. Women Rule the OolaWorld ~ Since the first copy of the original Oola book was written, the “OolaGuys” noticed that their incredibly attentive audience was comprised predominantly of women. This book is for them, whether they placed a goal sticker on the OolaBus, attended OolaPalooza, read their prior work  or are coming across this mission for the first time.
  2.  A Beacon of Hope and Optimism ~ Oola for Women is filled with hope and optimism for those women who are getting ready to live the life of their dreams.
  3. Success Formula for a New Generation ~ This book speaks to all generations, but it can help raise modern women to live lives with true balance and purpose.
  4. Sections Galore ~ It’s not just the 7 F’s of Oola (or key areas of life) that women are introduced to in these chapters, there are OolaBlockers, OolaAccelerators and 3 Simple Steps to the OolaLife. And again, there are free worksheets and bonus tools available for living the OolaLife!
  5. Tons More ~ The list goes on but I don’t want to spoil it for you!

The Bad

The book would have been more enjoyable for me if I would have been able to jump to the end and draft my OolaPlan so that I could think about my goals as I read through the preceding sections. Then I’d keep the OolaPath at the end so that I could learn daily life hacks to send me off into my new Oola world. [I will say I completed the OolaWheel online before I ever got the book….I was too curious!!]

Now, I realize the book’s layout works better for the majority, since moving the action section of the book toward the beginning could have some women putting blinders on during important foundational content since they may presumptuously assume they thought of everything in their action steps.

Worse yet, if everyone dove in with goal setting toward the start, many may have chosen to just knock off the action items and put the book down–completely missing core sections such as OolaBlockers and OolaAccelerators. So in the end, the authors I honestly think the authors/editor did well keeping the action steps for the end. {See what I did there?}

What if all the events in your life, both good and bad, are all part of your journey, leading you to something really cool and impossible to foresee. Be grateful for the lessons learned, the strength gained, and stay faithful that it all plays into a greater purpose for your life. ~ Oola for Women, Dave Braun • Troy Amdahl with Janet Switzer

The Beautiful

The beautiful thing is you don’t have to do everything “by the book” in order to get more Oola in your life, you can just apply some of their key principles and keep the core areas of your life in check. While it doesn’t have to be “by the book”, if you buy the book you won’t be disappointed.
